NNELL's 25th Anniversary
Join other NNELL members in celebrating NNELL's 25th Anniversary at the ACTFL Convention in Philadelphia November 16-18, 2012. Network with colleagues at the NNELL Breakfast on Saturday morning and stop by the NNELL booth any time during the convention to renew your membership, discuss the many benefits our members enjoy or to network with other NNELL members.

The NNELL award will be presented during the ACTFL Award Ceremony. Be sure to join us as we support and congratulate our winner!

There will be a NNELL Regional and State Representative Meeting on Friday, 11/16/2012 from 11:00 - 12:00 in the Convention Center in Room 101. All representatives attending the convention are urged to attend.


Remind others to renew their membership
As the new membership year gets underway, remind other early language educators that NNELL wants to keep members connected to others interested in early language learning around the nation. Have them consider joining NNELL or renewing their membership today so that they can take advantage of all that NNELL has to offer!

Learning Languages Journal

The theme of the fall edition of the Learning Languages Journal is: Literacy Through Language Learning: Connecting with the Common Core. This journal will be available electronically in ealry January and will be filled with timely and informative pieces about this compelling topic. Journals will be available to members on the Members Only website at


Parent Connections to Early Language Learning
Language Learning as an Adult, Issue 21 of Parent Connections to Early Language Learning, is now available in the members only part of the website. Log in to the NNELL website, www.nnell.org, click on “Publications” and then “Newsletter for Parents”.

Parent Connections to Early Language Learning is a newsletter written for parents. Each issue addresses parent questions about early language learning and is written thematically. NNELL members who are teachers are encouraged to download and print this newsletter to send home with their students.

Parent Connections to Early Language Learning was titled Home & School Connection for the first 20 issues. Ana Lomba authored the first six issues and Tammy Dann has authored the rest. Amy Murphy designed the new look.
